    • Season 2 Premiere: “Spirits on the Streets” a deep dive into Afro-Caribbean dance, religion, culture, and expressions. Now with K-12 classroom curriculum!

Year-Round Dance Programs

We are an active DOE vendor and a certified NYC & NYS M/WBE.

  • Dynamic 45-minute auditorium performances featuring international pro Latin, African and Asian dancers, bilingual audience engagement, history, multi-media learning, and live Q&A—now paired with coordinating K–12 classroom curriculum!

  • Our 45-minute classes align with the NYC Public School learning objectives and the Chancellor’s priorities.

    1-9 month Artist Residencies can be booked to:

    • Ease tech withdrawal,

    • Support core learning objectives,

    • Prepare students for talent and community shows.

  • Bring Latin or African movement and dance history into your classroom for the day.

    Scholars learn through viewing and doing traditional and modern movements that compliment your existing social, global and ESL curriculums.

  • Bring your whole school community together with our DJ & dance events!

    Each celebration features a pro performance, interactive lesson, and dance-along activities where students, parents, and siblings join in to build a stronger school community through movement, language, and culture.

  • Surprise your school with a staff dance performance! Teachers and school-based staff learn a fun routine to wow students and families at one of our events or your talent show, boosting morale, and community connection.

    It improves cognitive flexibility, memory, focus, adaptability, responsiveness, and curiosity, all of which are necessary for today’s new learning needs.

    Dance provides a healthy, screen-free alternative that enhances focus, reduces AI Distress, anxiety, stress, and promotes mindfulness through relational social movement.

    5-minute dance breaks have been shown to improve executive functions and math performance in students.

    Dnce programs unite students, families, and staff through shared experiences and performances that strengthen school culture and foster mutual respect across generations.

Borough Moves is a project of Forest Hughes & Associates, a trusted DOE vendor, and the first to create a workplace program addressing Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma in NYC Public School staff.

Our professional development trainings equip and support school-based staff to navigating rapid global, political, and systemic change with resilience and confidence.
