Ms. Chelsea

Lead Instructor I Choreographer

Owner and lead teacher at Polanco Dance Center in Rockville Center, Ms. Chelsea obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Hunter College before going on to tour and compete internationally with the Latin Soul Dancers under the direction of Adolfo Indacochea.

Specializing in New York-style Salsa On2, Ms. Chelsea trained extensively with renowned salsa instructor and performer Jorday Rivera, developing a strong foundation in partner work, musicality, social dancing, and performance.

In addition to all forms of Latin and Afro-Caribbean dance, she’s cross-trained in classical Cunningham, Graham, and Limón Technique and brings movement practices into class to facilitate agility and confidence in dancers of all ages and abilities.

Today, Ms. Chelsea is making her Grandma proud by sharing her Puerto Rican heritage and deep appreciation for dance as both an art form and a means of human connection between people from all walks of life.

Mr. Andres

Lead Instructor I Choreographer

Founder of Soul in Motion, Andres is a Euroson World Champion soloist in Latin Dance and professional choreographer who is cross-trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and gymnastics. He’s competed across Latin America, including Cuba, Mexico, and Panama and was recently awarded a scholarship from….

Hailing from Colombia, he specializes in quick Cali footwork, smooth Cuban movement, and complex New York-style Salsa On2 partnerwork. Mr. Andres quickly breaks down complex movements into achievable routines for dancers of all ages and abilities.

Andres is passionate about sharing a variety of Latin dance forms and traditions with the younger generation and NYC’s immigrant families. Through dance, he cultivates an opportunity to remain connected to their shared heritage while building bridges across cultures through the healing power of dance and community events.

Mr. Nico

Lead Instructor I Choreographer

Nicolas is an accomplished salsa dancer, instructor, and choreographer specializing in New York Style Mambo, with over 15 years of professional experience in the international Latin dance industry.

Throughout his career, Nicolas has traveled extensively, teaching workshops, performing, and sharing his passion for salsa with students and dancers from different countries. His commitment to excellence, technical precision, and authentic musical interpretation has established him as a respected educator and performer within the global salsa community.

Originally from Rosario, Argentina, Nicolas successfully founded and directed his own dance school, where he trained dancers of all levels while building and leading his own professional dance company before relocating to New York City.

Today, Nicolas is a lead instructor at Empire Mambo, one of the world’s most recognized salsa schools based in New York City. He is also a proud member of Adolfo Indacochea’s Latin Soul Dancers, an internationally acclaimed professional dance company known for its artistic excellence and influence in the salsa world.

As an educator, Nicolas has extensive experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults, adapting his methodology to every level—from complete beginners to advanced competitive dancers. His teaching philosophy combines strong technical foundations, musicality, body movement, and performance quality, creating an engaging and inspiring learning environment for every student.

Whether teaching in the classroom, performing on stage, or choreographing for professional productions, Nicolas continues to inspire dancers worldwide through his passion, dedication, and commitment to preserving and elevating the art of salsa.

Ms. Elle

Founding Director I Somatic Therapist

Ms. Elle graduated with a Bachelors of Arts, Dance, from Point Park University and went on perform professionally in NYC and across the nation as a modern dancer.

Her choreography, set on NYC house dancers, has been shown and won recognition at such places as Bronx Academy of Arts and Theater (BAAD) and White Wave Dance Festival in D.U.M.B.O.

As a Somatic Therapist, Ms. Elle brought dance and movement into YMCA’s, afterschool programs, nonprofits, and juvenile halls to ease the symptoms of trauma in young people aged 3 to 23 years old.

Borough Moves is the culmination of her work in dance, education, production, and Somatic therapy. She thoughtfully develops programming, hires, and directs the organization towards it’s ulimate purpose - connection and healing for all.

Borough Moves’ signature intergenerational programming brings together staff, students, families, and professional dancers for memorable events, performances, and classes that lift the spirits, mental and physical health of all involved.

Ms. Ruth I Bookkeeping

Multi-talented, Ms. Ruth provides bookkeeping services to nonprofits and leading arts & entertainment companies whose missions align with her values of collective liberation through care and artistic expression. A literary artist herself, her writing has won multiple awards and placements, including CRAFT’s 2020 Flash Fiction Contest, and 2021 SmokeLong Grand Micro Contest. A certified life coach through The Socratic Coaching Academy, Ms. Ruth teaches artists and solopreneurs how to trust their own knowing. ruthlefaive.com
