Ms. Alina
Lead Instructor I Choreographer
Ms. Alina is a multidisciplinary performing artist, choreographer, and teaching artist with over 15 years of experience in dance education and a practice spanning movement, performance, and visual storytelling. Her work has taken her from New York to South Africa, teaching and performing across communities while using movement as a means of cultural expression, connection, and storytelling. A lifelong dancer, Alina was already traveling and performing with a dance theater company by age nine and began teaching at seventeen.
Her training spans Salsa On2, Bachata, Plena, Bomba, Palos, Chacombo, Flamenco, and other traditional Latin American and Caribbean dance forms. Her formative training with El Teatro Rodante Hispánico immersed her in an environment centered on preserving and sharing Hispanic culture through dance and performance. Years of social dance, choreography, teaching, and performance have continued to shape a movement vocabulary grounded in musicality, cultural tradition, and individual expression.
As an instructor, Alina brings energy, curiosity, and cultural context into the classroom, encouraging students to develop confidence in their bodies while understanding the history and communities behind the movement they are learning. Having entered the performing arts at a young age herself, she understands the lasting impact that access to dance, mentorship, and creative community can have on a young person.
Beyond the dance floor, Alina works across acting, modeling, visual art, choreography, and storytelling. At the center of her multidisciplinary practice is a belief that movement is more than performance: it is a way to preserve history, build community, tell stories, and give people another language through which to understand and express themselves.
